MK Milvitzky Responds to Leaked Video Controversy

Member of Knesset (MK) Chanoch Milvitzky, chairman of the Knesset Finance Committee and a Likud party member, has issued his first official response to a leaked video showing him complaining about his staff. The video, apparently recorded from his car, sparked significant political criticism.

Milvitzky stated that the leak was a breach of trust by a confidant, who released a private conversation. He acknowledged receiving both negative reactions and messages of support, with some expressing disgust with his staff. He highlighted that one staff member, despite the personal offense, chose to support him by attending an event with him instead of a planned family gathering, acting out of responsibility and collegiality without being asked.

Despite the personal betrayal, Milvitzky has chosen not to take severe action against his staff, including the leaker. He described his four staff members as good people who have worked with him for several years, believing the leaker made a serious error in judgment rather than acting out of malice. He expressed his belief that this was a mistake and nothing more.

Looking ahead to the High Holidays, Milvitzky quoted a passage from the Book of Numbers, emphasizing forgiveness for unintentional sins. He expressed a hope that this sentiment of forgiveness would be realized by all as Yom Kippur approaches.
