Over 60,000 Attend Global Tikkun Klali Gathering in Uman

Tens of thousands of Breslov Hasidim and Jewish people from around the world gathered in Uman, Ukraine, for the global Tikkun Klali (General Rectification) event on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. The event, estimated to have drawn over 60,000 attendees, set a new record since before the COVID-19 pandemic. A meticulous security operation was in place to ensure the safety of the massive crowd.

Rabbi Natan Ben Nun, chairman of the Breslov Union in Uman, oversaw the security efforts from a central command post. The post utilized live feeds from dozens of surveillance cameras covering the area around the tomb of Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. Senior representatives from emergency and security forces, including Oz Avizov, director of resilience at ZAKA (an Israeli volunteer rescue and recovery organization), joined Rabbi Ben Nun to monitor crowd density and prepare for any potential emergency.

Following the successful conclusion of the prayer gathering, Rabbi Ben Nun expressed satisfaction with the unprecedented preparations made for the large numbers. He noted that the Tikkun Klali event was the largest since before the pandemic and confirmed that over 60,000 people from across the globe had arrived in Uman. The Breslov Union is now preparing for the main Rosh Hashanah gatherings, expecting many more thousands to arrive.
