Tunnel Near Jerusalem Discovered and Sealed by Border Police
Israeli Border Police (MAGAV) discovered and sealed a tunnel near the Palestinian village of Al-Jib, close to Jerusalem. The tunnel was found on August 28, situated near the security barrier and the Israeli settlements of Givon and Givat Ze'ev.
Following the discovery, MAGAV forces conducted operations that led to the arrest of a suspect carrying excavation tools. Investigations revealed the tunnel was in an advanced stage of construction.
The entrance to the tunnel had been cleverly concealed within an ancient cistern, which was used to hide the excavation activities.
