Border Police Discover Ancient Cistern Concealing Tunnel Near Jerusalem
Israeli Border Police forces operating in the Jerusalem envelope region discovered a tunnel being dug near the separation barrier, close to the settlements of Givon and Givat Ze'ev. The tunnel, found in the Palestinian village of al-Jib, was already in an advanced stage of excavation when detected on August 28. Authorities revealed that the tunnel's entrance had been cleverly concealed within an ancient water cistern, obscuring the digging activity.
