Israel Braces for Heatwave During Second Day of Rosh Hashanah Holiday

Israel is expected to experience pleasant weather on the eve and first day of Rosh Hashanah, with temperatures returning to seasonal norms. However, a slight warming trend will begin on the second day of the holiday, leading to increased heat and humidity, particularly in inland and mountainous areas.

On Thursday, the weather will be clear to partly cloudy with a slight drop in temperatures, especially in the mountains and inland regions. The forecast for Friday, the eve of Rosh Hashanah, predicts clear skies after morning clouds dissipate, with a further slight decrease in temperatures, particularly along the coastal plain, the Shephelah, and the Negev.

Saturday, the first day of Rosh Hashanah, will also see clear skies after morning clouds, with temperatures remaining largely unchanged. Sunday, the second day of Rosh Hashanah, will start partly cloudy before clearing up. Temperatures will rise slightly, becoming a bit higher than average for the season, with a noticeable increase in the heat load, especially in the mountains and inland.

Forecasted temperatures for Thursday and Thursday night include Jerusalem (20-30°C), Tel Aviv (24-32°C), Be'er Sheva (21-34°C), Haifa (23-31°C), Tiberias (22-34°C), Safed (20-30°C), and Eilat (28-39°C).
