Settler Convicted of Killing Aisha Rabi Sentenced to 13 Years
The Lod District Court has sentenced a Jewish man to 13 years in prison for the killing of Aisha Rabi, a mother of nine. The man was 15 years old at the time of the crime in 2018. The court convicted him of manslaughter in the context of a terrorist act.
The conviction stems from an incident where the defendant threw a large rock at Rabi's vehicle as it passed near the settlement of Rehalim in the West Bank. Rabi was killed instantly in front of her children and husband.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered the convicted man to pay 258,000 shekels in compensation to Rabi's family. The case has been highlighted as a prominent example of settler violence and attacks on roads in the West Bank.
