Settler Convicted of Killing Aisha Rabi Sentenced to 13 Years
Eight years after the crime, a Jewish man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for the killing of Aisha Rabi. The Lod District Court handed down the sentence to the man, who was 15 years old at the time of the offense. He was convicted of unintentional homicide in the context of a terror act.
Rabi, a mother of nine, was killed in 2018 when a large rock was thrown at her vehicle as it passed near the Rehalim settlement in the West Bank. The rock struck her vehicle, causing her immediate death in front of her children and husband. The court found the act was motivated by nationalist and racist reasons.
In addition to the prison term, the convicted man was ordered to pay 258,000 shekels in financial compensation to Rabi's family. This case has been highlighted as a prominent example of settler violence and road attacks in the West Bank.
