Israel's Population Surpasses 10.3 Million, Arabs Constitute 21.7%
Israel's total population has exceeded 10.3 million people for the first time, reaching approximately 10,305,000 residents, according to data released by the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (ICBS) on September 9, 2026. Arab citizens and East Jerusalem residents comprise 21.7% of the total population, numbering 2,173,000.
The report indicated a population growth rate of 1.2% compared to the previous year. However, the figures also revealed a negative international migration balance, resulting in a decrease of around 8,000 people. This decline is attributed to a notable wave of emigration and a sharp drop in the number of returning expatriates, influenced by the current security and economic conditions.
