Israel's Population Surpasses 10 Million Mark for First Time
Israel's population has officially exceeded 10 million people for the first time, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics ahead of Rosh Hashanah. The country is now home to approximately 10,305,000 residents.
Over the past year, Israel's population grew by about 124,000 individuals, a 1.2% increase. This growth was primarily driven by natural increase, with approximately 182,000 births and 50,000 deaths recorded during the period. The natural increase accounted for about 132,000 people.
However, the international migration balance was negative, with emigration and other migration processes leading to a decrease of roughly 8,000 people. The statistics also indicate a decline in the number of Israelis returning to the country from abroad, with about 18,800 returning in the past year, compared to 24,200 in 2024.
Despite the reduced migration inflow, the overall population growth was sufficient to push the total number of residents past the 10 million milestone.
