Maccabi Tel Aviv Denies Rumors of Romanian Star Ianis Hagi's Arrival

Senior figures in Romanian football claim that Romanian national team midfielder Ianis Hagi may arrive in Israel on Wednesday to tour Maccabi Tel Aviv's facilities, with some reports suggesting a medical examination is the purpose. However, Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially denied these reports, stating Hagi is not expected to visit.

Hagi, currently playing for Turkey's Alanyaspor and recently featured in their match against Rizespor, previously played alongside James Tavernier at Rangers. Tavernier recently joined Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Hagi had been a target for the club in the past. This situation has created conflicting narratives between the Israeli club and Romanian media.

Maccabi Tel Aviv players are currently enjoying a day off before resuming preparations on Thursday for their upcoming derby match against Hapoel Tel Aviv next Monday. The team has been informed that after their match against Maccabi Netanya on the following Saturday, they will have a week off due to the international break, excluding national team players.

Looking ahead to the derby, a highly anticipated fixture to be held at Bloomfield Stadium and expected to be a sell-out immediately after Rosh Hashanah, sources within Maccabi stated, "We are coming to win the derby. If we play like we did against Beer Sheva, Hapoel Tel Aviv will also receive four goals."
