Maccabi Tel Aviv Makes Lucrative Offer for Romanian Star Ianis Hagi

Maccabi Tel Aviv has reportedly made a strong offer for Romanian national team midfielder Ianis Hagi, according to his agent, Ioan Becali. Becali stated that the Israeli club is capable of offering Hagi between one and 1.2 million euros per season. The 27-year-old player, son of Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hagi, currently plays for Turkish club Alanyaspor but has seen limited playing time in the early stages of the Turkish league season, potentially seeking a new destination.

Hagi has a notable career history, having previously played for Rangers, Deportivo Alavés, Genk, and had a brief stint at Fiorentina. He has also earned 54 caps for the Romanian national team. This is not the first time Hagi has been linked with a move to Maccabi Tel Aviv, who recently signed James Tavernier.

Becali emphasized that the decision ultimately rests with Hagi and his father. "It depends on Ianis and what he thinks," Becali told the Romanian press. "Maccabi Tel Aviv is a team that can offer a million or 1.2 million euros in salary. It's a team that plays in European competitions." He added that at 27, with a child and a grandchild in his father, Hagi is mature enough to make the decision himself.
