Maccabi Tel Aviv Raises Offer to Secure Dan Glazer Amid Beitar Jerusalem Competition
Maccabi Tel Aviv has increased its annual offer to Dan Glazer to 350,000 euros in an effort to outbid Beitar Jerusalem, which had proposed around 290,000 euros per season. Both clubs have offered Glazer a two-year contract with an option for a third year, and he is aware of the financial terms from both sides. The negotiations are led by Maccabi's sporting director, Stephen Vanahran, who emphasized Glazer's importance to the club's rebuilding plans, highlighting his leadership and history with the team.
Beitar Jerusalem is promoting a different vision for Glazer, focusing on a significant starting role under coach Almog Cohen. Despite the financial gap favoring Maccabi by approximately 120,000 euros over two years, Beitar has received assurances from Glazer that he will secure a free transfer from his current club, Kairat of Kazakhstan, where he is contracted until January. Consequently, Beitar currently does not intend to pay a transfer fee.
Meanwhile, Maccabi has initiated direct negotiations with Kairat to reach an agreement. Should the deal for Luka Gadrani proceed, Beitar's owner, Barak Abramov, might also agree to pay a transfer fee to complete Glazer's acquisition. Beitar continues to focus on strengthening its attacking lineup, with Daniel Vorko impressing in training and competing for a starting spot alongside Boris Ino, while other forwards like Noam Motche and Ziv Ben Shimol vie for positions. Injuries continue to affect players such as Tomer Yosefi, Adi Yona, and Omer Atzili, who have yet to return to full training.
