Maccabi Tel Aviv Makes Lucrative Offer for Romanian Star Ianis Hagi

Maccabi Tel Aviv has reportedly made a strong offer for Romanian national team midfielder Ianis Hagi, according to his agent, Ioan Becali. Becali stated that the Israeli club is capable of offering Hagi between one and 1.2 million euros per season. The 27-year-old player, son of Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hagi, currently plays for Alanyaspor in Turkey but has seen limited playing time this season, potentially seeking a new club.

Hagi, who has previously played for Rangers, Deportivo Alavés, Genk, and had a brief stint at Fiorentina, has also represented Romania 8 times in 54 appearances. This is not the first time Hagi has been linked with a move to Maccabi Tel Aviv, who recently signed James Tavernier. Becali emphasized that the decision rests with Hagi and his father, noting that at 27, Hagi is an adult with a family and capable of making his own choices about his career.

Maccabi Tel Aviv's participation in European competitions was highlighted by the agent as a significant draw. The club is looking to potentially add another prominent player to its roster, following the recent acquisition of Tavernier.
