Arkia Launches First Direct Flights From Israel to Philippines

Arkia Airlines has announced the launch of a new direct flight route connecting Tel Aviv, Israel, to Manila, the capital of the Philippines. This service, set to commence on January 3, 2027, will be the only direct flight of its kind operating from Israel to the Philippines. Initially, Arkia will offer one flight per week, departing on Sundays. The flight duration to Manila is expected to be approximately 11 hours, with the return journey taking about 12 hours and 20 minutes. The airline will utilize an Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, offering both economy and business class options. Economy class tickets will start at $750 one-way, while business class will begin at $1,800 one-way.

Manila joins Arkia's growing list of long-haul direct destinations, which already includes New York, Bangkok, Phuket, and Hanoi, with Tokyo planned for the future. This expansion aims to increase Arkia's presence in the long-distance direct flight market, traditionally dominated by El Al and major international carriers. The new route is also expected to reshape the competitive landscape for travel to the Philippines, as no direct flights currently exist between the two countries.

The initial limited frequency will allow Arkia to assess demand and economic viability before considering potential expansion. The airline believes the Philippines holds significant tourism potential and can foster stronger business and economic ties with Israel. The direct flights are also anticipated to benefit Filipino workers residing in Israel and their families, as well as support pilgrim travel between the nations.
