Arkia to Launch Direct Flights Between Israel and Manila in January

Israeli airline Arkia has announced the upcoming launch of direct flights connecting Tel Aviv and Manila, the capital of the Philippines. The new route is scheduled to commence on January 3, 2027, with flights operating once weekly on Sundays. Arkia will utilize Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft for this service. Ticket prices will start at $750 for economy class and $1800 for business class, one-way.

This initiative marks Arkia as the first Israeli carrier to offer direct, scheduled flights to Manila. Oz Berlovich, CEO of Arkia, stated that the airline continues to expand its direct flight offerings for the Israeli public, following previous route openings to destinations like New York, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. Berlovich highlighted the Philippines' significant potential for tourism, business, and economic engagement, which he believes will strengthen bilateral ties.

The Ambassador of the Philippines to Israel, Ilieana Menziola, expressed that the direct air link is expected to boost trade and create new economic opportunities. She also indicated that discussions regarding a free trade agreement between the two nations could commence. Previously, El Al had also announced intentions to launch direct flights to Manila, but a specific start date has not yet been confirmed.
