Maccabi Haifa Slams Beitar Jerusalem Over Alleged Pursuit of Yarin Levi

Maccabi Haifa has expressed strong displeasure with Beitar Jerusalem regarding what they perceive as improper attempts to recruit midfielder Yarin Levi. Sources within Maccabi Haifa are angered by messages reportedly emanating from Beitar Jerusalem concerning Levi's future, emphasizing that the player's position with the club is not in doubt.

Maccabi Haifa insists they have made significant efforts to retain Levi, including signing him to a long-term contract that satisfies him. They stated that the standard protocol for acquiring a player involves direct communication with the club, not through media negotiations. "Usually, when you want a player, you are supposed to approach," a Maccabi Haifa official commented, adding, "We don't recall us negotiating or saying we want a contracted player through the media. This is not how you conduct yourselves, and it's a shame Beitar continues this approach, especially after the difficult statement against Itzik Ovadia." The club reiterated that Levi is committed to staying, having recently signed a new contract, and that both the player and the club wish to continue their collaboration.

Levi recently had his contract renegotiated less than a month ago. His new contract includes a percentage of a future transfer fee, intended to secure a higher sum for both parties. His previous contract had a release clause set at 2.5 million euros.
