Beitar Jerusalem Accelerates Talks to Sign Midfielder Yarin Levi

Beitar Jerusalem is set to intensify negotiations for the return of midfielder Yarin Levi, aiming to bolster their squad after a recent win. The club, based in the capital, is eager to bring Levi back following recent comments by Almog Cohen. The team secured their first win of the season, a 1-0 victory over Bnei Sakhnin on Saturday, easing pressure after a slow start. Midfielders Li'el Dar'i and Eugene Ansah showed improved performances, with Cohen praising the team's attitude and ability to overcome pre-game tension.

Player Omer Atzili explained his visible frustration during his substitution, attributing it to an uncharacteristic missed opportunity in the first half and what he perceived as incorrect refereeing decisions by Oral Greenberg. With the team's situation now calmer, Beitar plans to add one or two players, including a foreign player and Yarin Levi.

Almog Cohen confirmed the club's efforts to re-sign Levi, a move first reported by Sport Channel. This initiative is driven by delays in acquiring a dominant foreign midfielder and Levi's current less-than-ideal situation at Maccabi Haifa. The process to bring Levi back to Teddy Stadium, which began last week, will be accelerated. Levi has expressed his desire to return, and Beitar owner Barak Abramov, currently abroad, awaits approval from Yaakov Shahar of Maccabi Haifa to begin formal negotiations.

If Maccabi Haifa gives Levi the green light to transfer, Beitar is expected to offer a percentage of future sales to reduce the transfer fee. This strategic move aims to strengthen the midfield and improve the team's performance.
