Maccabi Haifa Nears New Contract Deal with Midfielder Yarin Levi

Maccabi Haifa is preparing for the 2026/27 season and will face Ironi Kiryat Yam from the National League in a friendly match on Tuesday evening. The squad will feature Kenji Hura, who missed the training camp, and gradually returning striker Adam Greenberg, recovering from last season's injury. Yella Betay has also resumed training, though it remains uncertain if he and Greenberg will play in the friendly.

Central midfielder Yarin Levi is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming match and is close to finalizing a new contract with Maccabi Haifa. The club plans to remove Levi's release clause, currently set at 2.5 million euros, at least until next summer in exchange for a substantial salary increase. This move aims to secure Levi's services, who has been on loan at Beitar Jerusalem for the past two seasons, for at least one full season with Haifa.

There is also an understanding that a successful season could lead to a more attractive offer exceeding the current release clause. Maccabi Haifa is scheduled to meet with Levi and his representatives to conclude the agreement. Coach Barak Bachar is relying heavily on Levi for the upcoming season as the team continues its preparations.
