Maccabi Haifa Midfielder Yarin Levi Signs New Contract with 40% Salary Increase

Yarin Levi, the 21-year-old midfielder for Maccabi Haifa, officially signed a new contract with the club on Thursday. The agreement follows a decisive meeting two days earlier between club owner Yaakov Shahar and Levi's representatives, where all final details were settled. Levi's salary will increase by 40 percent, and his release clause has been postponed until next summer. The contract length remains unchanged, extending until June 2030.

During discussions with Shahar, Levi received a gentleman's assurance that the club would not block any suitable transfer offers. Levi expressed his commitment to Maccabi Haifa, stating he never intended to leave and would not have signed a new deal last season if he wanted to depart. He also hopes to resolve tensions with the club's fans, with sporting director Lior Rafaelov expected to engage with supporters to restore calm.

Levi joined Maccabi Haifa's youth system from Hapoel Be'er Sheva at age 14. He debuted for the senior team in August 2023 during the Toto Cup and was loaned to Beitar Jerusalem less than a year later. In his first season in Jerusalem, he was named the Israeli Premier League's breakthrough player and earned a spot on the Israeli national team. After two seasons and 60 league appearances with one goal and two assists, Levi returned to Maccabi Haifa as a key central midfielder.
