Beitar Jerusalem Accelerates Talks to Sign Midfielder Yarin Levi

Beitar Jerusalem is set to intensify negotiations for the return of midfielder Yarin Levi, aiming to bolster their squad after a recent win. The club from the capital is eager to bring Levi back, especially given the current situation with their midfield and the delay in acquiring a dominant foreign player. Almog Cohen confirmed the club's efforts to re-sign Levi, citing the need for midfield reinforcement and Levi's less-than-ideal situation at Maccabi Haifa.

The team secured their first win of the season, a 1-0 victory over Bnei Sakhnin on Saturday, which eased pressure after a slow start. Players like Li'el Dar'i and Eugene Ansah showed improved performances. Cohen praised the team's attitude, noting their ability to overcome pre-game tension to secure the crucial three points.

Omer Atzili, who appeared frustrated during his substitution, explained his reaction stemmed from an uncharacteristic missed opportunity in the first half and perceived incorrect calls by referee Oral Grinfeeld. With the team's situation now calmer, Beitar plans to add one or two players, including a foreign signing and potentially Levi.

Levi himself has expressed a desire to return to Beitar. The club's owner, Barak Abramov, who was abroad, is awaiting approval from Yaakov Shahar of Maccabi Haifa to formally negotiate Levi's return. If Maccabi Haifa agrees to the transfer, Beitar is reportedly considering offering a percentage of future sales to reduce Levi's transfer fee.
