Widespread Outage Disrupts Israeli Payment App Bit

A significant system-wide malfunction is currently disrupting the operations of the Israeli payment application Bit, affecting numerous users who are unable to access the service or perform basic functions. Reports indicate that in many instances, the app fails to load its main page, displaying an error message instead that prompts users to try again. This outage is preventing users from making money transfers, receiving payments, and accessing other features within the app.

Bank Hapoalim, the operator of Bit, confirmed the issue is a systemic failure rather than an isolated problem for individual users. The bank stated that its technical teams have identified the glitch and are working to restore normal service as quickly as possible. "We are currently identifying a malfunction affecting the operation of the Bit app. The issue is being handled, and the teams at Bit are working to resolve it as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience," a bank spokesperson said.

At this time, the cause of the malfunction, the number of affected users, or a precise timeline for service restoration have not been disclosed. While the disruption persists, users may continue to experience difficulties logging into the app and conducting financial transactions.

This is not the first time Bit has encountered similar issues. In June, users reported problems accessing the app and transferring funds, with a previous outage lasting over two hours before service was normalized. Bit is one of Israel's most popular payment applications, used for peer-to-peer transfers, business payments, and other services, making even short disruptions potentially impactful for a large user base.
