Popular Israeli Payment App Bit Suffers Major Technical Failure

The popular Israeli payment application Bit experienced a significant technical failure on the evening of September 7, preventing users from accessing the service and conducting transactions. Many users reported being unable to log in or navigate to the main page, encountering error messages instead of the usual interface. The outage rendered core functions of the app inaccessible, with users specifically citing difficulties in sending and receiving money.

Bank Hapoalim, the operator of Bit, confirmed the technical glitch and stated that its specialists are actively working to resolve the issue and restore normal service as quickly as possible. The cause of the malfunction has not yet been disclosed, nor has the total number of affected users or an estimated time for full service restoration.

This is not the first time Bit has faced such disruptions. In June of the previous year, users also experienced login and transaction issues that took over two hours to rectify. Bit is widely used in Israel for peer-to-peer money transfers, meaning even brief technical problems can impact a large volume of financial operations.
