Channel 13 Demands to Void Settlement with Former Presenter Netali Shacham Tov

Channel 13 is demanding the annulment of a settlement agreement reached with former presenter and "Am Echad Israel" party member Netali Shacham Tov, alleging the publication of "lies" regarding the terms.

Shacham Tov had sued Channel 13 for breach of contract, harassment based on worldview, imposition of agendas, and wrongful termination. The parties had reached a settlement agreement, which included a confidential financial compensation to Shacham Tov.

However, Channel 13 stated that the settlement was based on Shacham Tov's acknowledgment that her claims lacked legal basis and that she agreed to compromise because her lawsuit would not hold up in court. The network claims the court recommended she settle for only a portion of her employment contract's value.

Channel 13 further asserts that Shacham Tov herself requested the agreement remain confidential after failing to gain political capital from her dismissal. They claim the court rejected her lawsuit for NIS 3.5 million, including claims of harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, reputational damage, and emotional distress, approving a settlement for less than one-fifth of the claimed amount.

In response to what they term a "false announcement" by the plaintiff, Channel 13 has filed a request with the court to cancel the settlement agreement.
