Eyal Golan Tops Radio Airplay Chart, Avihai Ohayon Leads as Top Creator

Eyal Golan's song "Mada Bidi'oni" (Science Fiction) has been named the most played song on Israeli radio in the Hebrew year 5786, according to data released by ACUM, the Israeli performing rights society. This marks a significant achievement for Golan, whose popularity on the radio remains strong despite past controversies.

Following Golan, the second most played song was "Of Muza" by Faris Tasi, and Noam Botan's "MICHELLE" secured the third spot. Tasi also had two other songs in the top ten, making him the most prominent artist in the top tier of the charts. Other notable artists in the top ten included Osher Cohen, Odeya, Omer Adam, Hanan Ben Ari, and Ben Tzour.

Behind the scenes, songwriter and composer Avihai Ohayon continued his dominance, holding the title of the most played creator for the eighth consecutive year. Tzlil Kalfi was recognized as the most played female creator.

Despite the successes, the ACUM data highlighted a persistent gender gap in the Israeli music industry. Only four women were among the top 20 most played artists, and just two of the top 20 songs were performed solely by female artists. The disparity was also evident among creators, with only two women in the overall creator rankings and none in the top 20 arrangers.

In the individual artist rankings, Eyal Golan led the male artists, followed by Omer Adam and the late Arik Einstein. Sarit Hadad topped the female artist chart, ahead of Eden Ben Zaken and Odeya. The rankings were compiled using data from ACUM's AcumOnAir system, which monitors broadcasts across 34 national and regional radio stations in Israel.
