Israel Braces for Heatwave With Temperatures Soaring Across the Country

Israel is set to experience a significant rise in temperatures starting Monday, September 7th, with a further increase expected on Tuesday. The continental part of the country will see a one-degree Celsius jump in temperature on Monday. Coastal waters will also be warm, with the Mediterranean Sea reaching 30 degrees Celsius and moderate to strong waves of 50-100 cm. The Sea of Galilee (Kinneret) will be 32 degrees Celsius with waves of 40-70 cm, while the Red Sea in Eilat will be 28 degrees Celsius with weak waves of 20-40 cm.

Cities across Israel will experience high daytime temperatures. Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Netanya, Ariel, Haifa, and Ashdod are all forecast to reach 31 degrees Celsius. Other cities like Afula, Kiryat Shmona, and Tiberias (Kinneret) will see highs of 35-37 degrees Celsius. The Dead Sea area, specifically Ein Gedi, will reach 37 degrees Celsius, and Eilat will be the hottest at 39 degrees Celsius. Nighttime temperatures will remain warm, generally in the mid-20s Celsius in coastal areas and around 20-23 degrees Celsius inland.

The heatwave is expected to intensify slightly on Tuesday before a one-degree Celsius drop in temperature on Wednesday.
