Chinese EV Brand iCAUR to Launch in Israel with V27 SUV

The Chinese electric vehicle brand iCAUR is set to launch in Israel, with its first model, the V27 SUV, scheduled for release in November 2026. Smelter will serve as the official importer for the brand in the Israeli market. The initial shipment of iCAUR vehicles is expected to depart from Shanghai in October.

The iCAUR V27 is described as a boxy-styled SUV designed for both on-road and off-road driving. It features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology. This system combines electric propulsion with a gasoline engine that acts as a range extender, allowing for electric driving in daily use and longer trips without constant reliance on charging stations.

While specific details regarding power output, battery size, electric range, fuel consumption, and charging times for the Israeli market versions have not yet been released, the vehicle will arrive in Israel with full regulatory compliance. Pricing, specifications, and trim levels will be announced closer to the launch date.

iCAUR, a brand under the Chery Group, has already been launched in over 40 countries and regions globally. Chery, founded in 1997, claims to be China's largest vehicle exporter for 23 consecutive years, selling approximately 2.81 million vehicles in 2025.

Smelters plans to expand the iCAUR lineup in Israel, with the V25 and V23 models, available in electric and plug-in hybrid versions, expected to arrive in 2027. Gili Priante, CEO of Smelters, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating that the company is proud to bring the innovative iCAUR brand to Israel and sees it as a significant step in Smelters' growth and deepening partnership with Chery.
