Masked Fans Threaten Players at Beitar Jerusalem Training

Approximately 20 masked fans stormed the training grounds of Beitar Jerusalem on Saturday evening, throwing fireworks and confronting players and coach Almog Cohen. The incident occurred near the start of the team's evening practice session and involved verbal abuse and threats directed at team personnel.

The aggressive behavior from the fans comes in the wake of two significant losses for Beitar Jerusalem at the beginning of the league season, with the team failing to secure any points in the first two matches. They suffered a 4-1 defeat against Maccabi Netanya and a 3-0 loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv, conceding seven goals while scoring only one across both games.

Despite the poor performance and fan unrest, the club's owner, Barak Abramov, has publicly backed coach Almog Cohen. Abramov stated that Cohen, whom he described as a top professional, is not going anywhere and his position is secure. This support was reiterated after the recent loss to Hapoel Tel Aviv, with club officials confirming that the coach's status is not in question.

Beitar Jerusalem confirmed the details of the incident, which took place in the players' parking area adjacent to the locker rooms. The confrontation lasted for an extended period before the fans dispersed.
