A small group of approximately 20 disgruntled fans of the Jerusalem football club Beitar Jerusalem stormed the team's training facility at Beit Vagan on Saturday evening. The incident occurred just before the team's upcoming match against Bnei Sakhnin, following a dismal start to the season where the team lost its first two games with a combined score of 7-1. The fans entered the locker room, hurled insults, shouted, threw firecrackers, and banged on doors. They directly confronted the players, emphasizing the unacceptability of losing to rivals Hapoel Tel Aviv, who had defeated Beitar Jerusalem 3-0 just last Thursday. This loss, following an earlier 4-1 defeat to Maccabi Netanya, has clearly angered a segment of the fanbase.
The fans' actions were captured on video, reportedly shared on social media, and highlight the intense pressure and frustration among supporters following the team's poor performance. The confrontation aimed to express the fans' displeasure and demand better results, particularly in crucial derby matches.
