Israel's Water Economy Stabilizes, Reservoir Refills Planned

Israel's water economy has fully stabilized, with water supply restored to all residents and unrestricted supply to the agricultural sector, according to updates from the Ministry of Energy and the Water Authority on Friday. The rapid recovery is attributed to dynamic operations at desalination facilities, increased water flow from the Sea of Galilee, and numerous boreholes across the country.

Despite the stabilization, the Water Authority announced that Mekorot, the national water company, will continue to heavily refill national reservoirs over the weekend. This proactive measure aims to ensure complete supply and maximum redundancy for the upcoming week, especially with expected decreases in private consumption.

Regarding recent environmental concerns, the Water Authority clarified that drinking water is completely safe for domestic use. They also stated that the localized dispersal of permitted substances into the sea does not endanger swimmers, with ongoing environmental monitoring in the area. However, the Ministry of Health's directive prohibiting fishing in the southern region remains in effect as a precautionary measure until monitoring results are available. The authorities assure the public that fish in markets and bathing beaches are safe.
