Water Supply Stable Ahead of Shabbat, Authorities Assure

Israel's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, in conjunction with the Water Authority, has announced full stabilization of the national water systems, assuring the public there will be no disruptions to water supply ahead of the Sabbath. Professional assessments confirm that water delivery to both residential and agricultural sectors continues normally and without limitations.

The stability was achieved through a combination of dynamic operations at desalination facilities, increased water flow from the Sea of Galilee, and numerous boreholes across the country. To ensure continued supply into the following week, Mekorot, the national water company, will undertake a significant replenishment of national reservoirs as private consumption decreases towards the weekend.

Officials emphasized that drinking water is entirely safe for consumption and domestic use. Regarding a recent incident involving treated seawater, the Water Authority stated that the targeted treatment, conducted with approved materials under inter-ministerial committee oversight, poses no risk to swimmers. Environmental monitoring is ongoing, with results pending. A Ministry of Health directive prohibiting fishing in the treated area was a precautionary measure until monitoring results are available, and fish in markets and on beaches are deemed safe.

Teams from the Water Authority, Mekorot, and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure are maintaining continuous, round-the-clock management of the situation to guarantee the resilience of the water economy and uninterrupted supply for all citizens.
