Police Seize 17 Kilograms of Drugs in Tel Aviv Apartment

Israeli police confiscated approximately 17 kilograms of drugs, including marijuana, hashish, and ketamine, from an apartment in Tel Aviv on Wednesday. Authorities suspect the apartment served as a hub for drug distribution across various regions of the country. A 31-year-old resident of Tel Aviv was arrested at the scene and taken for questioning.

The raid was part of a covert investigation by officers from the Benjamin station into suspected drug trafficking and distribution in Judea and Samaria, central Israel, and Jerusalem. The investigation transitioned to its overt phase following the collection of evidence. During the search, officers found the drugs packaged in bags and portions, suggesting they were prepared for sale and distribution.

In a related operation a few days prior, police seized about four additional kilograms of marijuana and hashish and arrested a 23-year-old resident of Bnei Brak. To date, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the case. Police also confiscated three vehicles and an electric bicycle, which they allege were used by the suspects in their criminal activities, and intend to seek their forfeiture. The investigation is ongoing.

This incident follows a similar case last month in northern Tel Aviv, where a resident of Petah Tikva was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. Police found over a kilogram of drugs, more than 90 small bags, and NIS 4,050 in cash in his vehicle after observing a suspected drug exchange.
