Gal Gadot Addresses AI Concerns in New Film, Hints at Wonder Woman Departure

Israeli actress Gal Gadot stars in the new film "Bitcoin," which utilized artificial intelligence for set design and lighting effects. Gadot revealed that her lawyers spent six months negotiating her contract to ensure her image and performance could not be altered by AI. She expressed apprehension about AI's growing influence but acknowledged its inevitability, stating, "either you work with it, or you are completely out of the game." Gadot emphasized that while AI was used for visuals, a large human team was also crucial to the production.

The film, directed by Doug Liman, reportedly saved over $200 million by employing AI for its sets and lighting, with a total budget of $70 million. Gadot described the filming experience as unique, with actors shooting in a bare warehouse space for ten continuous hours without breaks, which she found exhilarating and conducive to maintaining performance momentum.

In separate comments, Gadot also discussed her future as Wonder Woman. She indicated that she is unlikely to reprise the role for a potential third film due to family commitments and her current life stage. Gadot, who first played the character in 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," acknowledged the changes at DC Studios under new leadership, James Gunn and Peter Safran, noting that their handling of other actors like Henry Cavill and director Patty Jenkins was not surprising. She expressed gratitude for her time as Wonder Woman, calling the character a gift to many and stating she was merely a vessel for the role.
