Gal Gadot Reflects on Wonder Woman Exit, Praises AI in New Film
Actress Gal Gadot has indicated that she is unlikely to reprise her role as Wonder Woman for a third film, citing family priorities and the demands of extended filming schedules. In a recent podcast appearance, Gadot explained that with her four children, long absences from home are not compatible with her current lifestyle. She has portrayed the superhero in four films since 2016.
Gadot also commented on the recent leadership changes at DC Studios under James Gunn and Peter Safran. She criticized the handling of the departures of actor Henry Cavill and director Patty Jenkins, stating that their exits were "not handled elegantly." Despite this, Gadot expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play the character, acknowledging Wonder Woman's significance and the transient nature of Hollywood roles.
Meanwhile, Gadot is promoting her new film, "Stoneheart," directed by Doug Liman. The movie is notable for its extensive use of artificial intelligence in post-production for sets and lighting, a technique that reportedly saved the production approximately $200 million. Actors were filmed in empty sets, streamlining production and allowing for consistent 10-hour shooting days.
Gadot revealed that contract negotiations for "Stoneheart" took six months to ensure the AI technology would not exploit her likeness. The protective clauses in her contract were so detailed that the Screen Actors Guild American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) consulted her lawyers for guidance on updating future industry contracts. Gadot expressed apprehension about AI but acknowledged its inevitability, stating, "You have to learn to work with it or you're out of the game."
