Water Supply Crisis Continues as Plants Shut Down Due to Turbidity

Israel's national water supply system is facing ongoing challenges as most desalination plants were shut down again Tuesday morning due to a renewed increase in seawater turbidity. This follows a brief recovery overnight where most facilities had resumed operations.

In response to the latest development, the Water Authority and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure issued an urgent update and directives for local authorities and the public. The water economy's guidelines mandate that local authorities reduce public gardening and agricultural activities, as well as limit other public water usage.

The Water Authority assured that tap water supply for homes and private use will continue as normal. In areas experiencing localized issues, operations will be scaled back, and the Water Authority's operations center will provide focused attention to these specific locations.
