Bluebird Airways Launches Direct Flights From Tel Aviv to Bologna
Starting Wednesday, September 2, Bluebird Airways will operate three weekly flights connecting Tel Aviv to Bologna, Italy. The flights will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, offering a new direct route to the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region.
Bologna itself is presented as a compelling destination, known for its historic city center featuring Piazza Maggiore, ancient streets, and distinctive towers and arcades. The city also hosts the University of Bologna, established in the 11th century and recognized as the oldest continuously operating university in the Western world. Bologna is also a culinary hub, famous for regional specialties like tortellini, mortadella, tagliatelle al ragù, and green lasagna.
The new route is also positioned as a convenient gateway for exploring Northern and Central Italy. Bologna's central location allows for easy train access to cities such as Modena, Parma, and Florence, facilitating broader travel within the region.
This expansion into Bologna complements Bluebird Airways' existing operations in Italy, which include flights to Bergamo and Milan. The airline also announced plans to introduce direct flights to Rome and Naples starting September 17. A company statement highlighted Bologna's appeal as both a standalone destination and a strategic entry point for regional exploration, expressing enthusiasm for expanding their Italian network for the upcoming autumn and winter seasons.
Ticket prices are advertised starting from 128 euros one-way. However, a review by ynet indicated significant fluctuations in round-trip fares depending on the booking date, with prices ranging from 376 euros for mid-September travel to 763 euros for late September and 502 euros for early October, subject to availability.
