Blue Bird Airways Launches New Direct Flights to Bologna
Greek airline Blue Bird Airways is expanding its operations in Italy by launching a new direct flight route between Tel Aviv and Bologna. This new service, set to commence on September 2, 2026, will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The airline aims to provide Israeli travelers with a direct connection to Northern Italy, eliminating the need for layovers.
Prices for the Tel Aviv-Bologna flights will start at 128 euros one-way. Blue Bird Airways anticipates being the sole carrier offering direct flights on this route. Bologna is positioned as a gateway to other popular destinations in Northern Italy, making the route attractive for those planning broader regional travel.
This new route complements Blue Bird Airways' existing direct flights to Italy, which include services to Bergamo and Milan. The company plans to further expand its Italian offerings later in September, adding direct flights to Rome and Naples starting September 17.
The increased competition in air travel to Italy is expected to lead to a wider selection of flights and more competitive pricing, particularly during off-peak seasons like the period following the holidays, where discounted tickets may become available.
