Blue Bird Airways Launches New Direct Flights From Tel Aviv to Bologna

Greek airline Blue Bird Airways has announced the launch of a new direct flight route connecting Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) to Bologna, Italy. The service will commence on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, with three weekly flights scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Ticket prices will start at 128 euros one-way.

Blue Bird Airways will be the sole carrier operating this direct route, following a previous service offered by Ryanair. This new route expands the airline's existing operations in Italy, which currently include flights to Bergamo and Milan. The company plans to further extend its Italian network by introducing direct flights from Tel Aviv to Rome and Naples starting September 17.

"The launch of the Bologna route is significant news for Israeli travelers, especially during a period of high demand for direct flights to Italy," a company statement read. "Bologna is not only a destination in itself but also an excellent gateway for exploring Northern Italy. Alongside Bologna, Bergamo, and Milan, Rome and Naples will be added from September 17, creating a comprehensive network of direct destinations for the autumn and winter season at accessible prices."

Bologna, the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, is renowned as a major culinary and cultural hub in Italy. It also serves as a convenient entry point for excursions to various parts of Northern Italy, including Tuscany, Florence, the Dolomites, and Portofino, which has recently gained popularity partly due to the high-profile wedding of singer Omer Adam.
