Police Arrest Mayor, Family Members in Southern Israel Corruption Probe
Police forces conducted a large-scale operation this morning in a southern Israeli town, arresting seven suspects including a serving mayor and members of his family. The arrests are part of an investigation into alleged bribery, bid rigging, fraud, and fictitious employment schemes.

The suspects are expected to be brought before the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court later today for remand extensions. Police stated the operation is a significant enforcement action against crime and criminals in the Negev's Bedouin sector, who they claim attempt to turn official authorities into crime strongholds.
