Singer Yehuda Poliker Woken by Police to Save Suicidal Man
Israeli singer Yehuda Poliker was awakened by police last week in Tel Aviv to help prevent a man from committing suicide. The incident occurred late at night when neighbors called the police after an individual threatened to end his life. Upon arrival, officers attempted to dissuade the man, who stated that only Yehuda Poliker could convince him not to go through with it.
According to Poliker's associates, police officers went to the singer's home and woke him from sleep. They requested his assistance. Poliker then spoke with the distressed individual on the phone, ultimately saving his life.
