Singer Yehuda Poliker Talks Down Man Threatening Suicide in Tel Aviv

A man who climbed to the roof of a residential building in Tel Aviv and threatened to jump was persuaded to come down after a late-night phone call with popular Israeli singer Yehuda Poliker. Police were called to the scene on Remez Street over the weekend after the man ascended the building and began threatening to end his life. Officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station cordoned off the area and attempted to negotiate with the man, who eventually made a surprising request: to speak with Yehuda Poliker.

The man insisted that only Poliker could convince him not to jump. In response to this unusual plea, police officers went to Poliker's home in the middle of the night to explain the situation. Poliker, who was asleep at the time, immediately agreed to help. He spoke with the man on the phone for several minutes, attempting to calm him and persuade him to descend from the roof while police continued their operations below.

The conversation proved to be a turning point. After speaking with Poliker, the man was convinced to come down from the roof unharmed. Police described the incident as highly unusual, even for the officers involved, but emphasized that they acted quickly due to the man's life being in danger.
