Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinians and Journalists in West Bank Village of Kusra

On Saturday, Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Border Police were deployed to the West Bank village of Kusra following reports of "dozens of Jewish rioters" throwing stones at Palestinians and others. Upon arrival, security forces identified the rioters barricaded inside a Palestinian home, which still housed Palestinian residents. The settlers also attacked foreign journalists, throwing stones and smashing a vehicle window, but no arrests were made at the scene.

According to the IDF and Shin Bet, several Palestinians were injured, including a woman who was treated for non-life-threatening wounds by the Red Crescent. Security forces initially focused on removing the rioters from the house and separating the groups to protect the Palestinian residents. Vehicles used by the settlers to reach the village were confiscated and handed over to the Judea and Samaria police district as part of an ongoing investigation.

After the incident in Kusra, the rioters moved to the nearby village of Jalud, where clashes continued. The IDF and Border Police remain active in the area to prevent further violence and restore order. Palestinian sources reported settlers firing live rounds, besieging homes, and setting fires between Kusra and Jalud. They also reported six Palestinians detained, although Israeli forces have not confirmed any arrests.

The settlers reportedly arrived with flocks of sheep at the western entrance to the village of Al-Moayer near Ramallah. Kusra's local council head described how settlers attacked a family at a home under construction, surrounding them and throwing stones, injuring several family members. The IDF responded by firing tear gas at Palestinians attempting to assist the family.

This violence follows the recent establishment of an unauthorized outpost near Palestinian homes in Kusra, linked to the Tel Telfit settlement, which sparked international condemnation and intervention by the White House. The IDF previously attempted to dismantle the outpost, but settlers remained, leaving furniture behind. Additional IDF units were deployed to address the rioters, and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Herzog condemned the settlers as "Israeli terrorists." Security forces returned the next day to continue efforts to remove the outpost.
