Two Women Hospitalized After Snake Bites in Israel, One in Serious Condition

On Wednesday morning, a 48-year-old woman was seriously injured after being bitten by a snake on Makhon Volcani Street in Rishon Lezion. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (MDA) arrived at the scene and transported her to Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh) in stable condition, showing bite marks on her lower limbs. She was hospitalized in the general intensive care unit with a mild and stable condition and was fully conscious. Dr. Khaled Atallah, head of the emergency department at the Galilee Medical Center, advised on proper response to snake bites: keep the victim calm and immobile to slow venom spread, seek immediate hospital care, and avoid harmful actions such as cutting the bite, sucking venom, applying tourniquets, or trying to catch the snake.
