Samsung Unveils New Smart Glasses and Advanced Galaxy Watches at London Event

Samsung revealed its latest wearable technology lineup at the Unpacked event in London, showcasing smart glasses and upgraded premium smartwatches. The new Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 models feature significant improvements including larger batteries, record-brightness displays, and advanced real-time heart health monitoring. Samsung aims to shift user focus from smartphones to wearable devices that integrate fashion with proactive AI lifestyle management.

The smart glasses, developed in collaboration with Google and fashion brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, incorporate the Gemini Live AI system. This technology enables the glasses to "see" through a built-in camera, offering features like summarizing long messages, real-time translation, and object recognition for tasks such as cooking or furniture assembly. Powered by the Snapdragon AR1 platform, the glasses provide up to nine hours of battery life, are sweat and water resistant (IP69K), and include an LED indicator for privacy during recording.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 targets extreme sports enthusiasts and divers, boasting an 800mAh battery and a 5,000-nit brightness screen for clear visibility even in bright sunlight. It also includes automatic depth sensors and advanced navigation based on external route files. The Galaxy Watch 9 focuses on holistic daily health management with enhanced sleep analysis capable of detecting breathing irregularities and a new Vitals feature that aggregates heart rate, blood oxygen, and skin temperature into a personalized heart health score.

Both watches run on the new Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, offering 20% better energy efficiency than previous models. They will be available in Israel starting August 9, with pre-orders already open. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is priced at 2,349 shekels, while the Galaxy Watch 9 ranges from 1,299 to 1,449 shekels depending on LTE support. Pricing and weight details for the smart glasses will be announced ahead of the fall season.
