Samsung Integrates Google Gemini AI for Quick Access on Upcoming Galaxy Watches

Samsung is set to introduce a major update to its Galaxy Wearable app and One UI 9 Watch interface, enhancing the user experience on its smartwatches. An early version of the app reveals a redesigned interface with three main tabs: watch faces, home, and settings. The home screen will display the connected watch model, color, battery percentage, and estimated usage time, along with shortcuts for notifications, quick panel, tiles, and app screen.

The update includes five new watch face designs tailored for daily use, health tracking, sports, and travel: Analog Balance, Dual Digit, Radial Dashboard, Ultra Performance, and Dual Clock Info Board. A key feature is the integration of Galaxy AI, allowing users to create personalized tiles for tracking sports scores, stocks, news, and other interests.

Significantly, Samsung will enable direct access to Google’s Gemini AI assistant from the watch. Users can activate voice recognition and start interacting with the assistant simply by raising their wrist toward their mouth, eliminating the need for long presses or wake words.

Health monitoring will also be enhanced with new tools such as Daily Cardio Load for aerobic activity recommendations, Vitals for sleep and vital signs tracking, and Sound Exposure to monitor environmental noise. The Galaxy Watch Ultra models will gain specialized outdoor features including trail running mode, waypoint saving, and a dive mode activated at specific depths.

Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 at the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22 in London.
