Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z Fold8, New AI Watches, and Smart Glasses at London Event
At the Galaxy Unpacked event held in London, Samsung introduced three new models in its Galaxy Z foldable series, a new generation of Galaxy Watch smartwatches, and AI smart glasses developed in collaboration with Google. The event took place at the historic Old Billingsgate venue, symbolizing the blend of tradition and innovation that Samsung aims to achieve with its new products.
The highlight was the Galaxy Z Fold8, featuring a wider design with a new screen ratio for improved external screen usability and a larger internal display for enhanced productivity and viewing. Samsung also unveiled its new Flex Titanium technology, which integrates titanium components into the display structure to reduce the crease mark, increase durability, and maintain a slim profile. The device is powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship processor and incorporates advanced AI capabilities based on Google's Gemini, enabling complex multitasking, split-screen work, content creation, and smart assistance.
Samsung also launched the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, a premium variant with a larger screen, advanced camera system, and additional upgrades for power users, marking the first time the company offers multiple models within the Fold series. Alongside the foldables, Samsung revealed a new Galaxy Watch generation with AI features for real-time sleep, workout, and health monitoring. Additionally, the company previewed AI smart glasses developed with Google, designed to provide AI services without needing to access a smartphone.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 will start at $1,899, while the Fold8 Ultra begins at $2,099. Through this product lineup, Samsung aims to strengthen its position in the foldable market and expand its ecosystem around AI and connected devices.
