Health Ministry Recalls Rami Levy Cheese Bourekas Over Metal Contamination Concerns
The Israeli Ministry of Health issued an unusual recall on Sunday for cheese bourekas from the Rami Levy brand due to suspected metal foreign objects found in the product. The recalled items include cheese-filled bourekas produced by Yinon Food Production and Marketing Ltd., distributed by Shikma Marketing. The affected products bear barcodes 7290002735847, with production dates of June 22 and June 24, 2026, and expiration dates of June 22 and June 24, 2027, respectively. Each package contains 800 grams.
The recall was coordinated with the Food Service Department of the Ministry of Health's Central District. The company is actively retrieving the product from sales channels. Consumers who have purchased the bourekas are urged not to consume them and to contact customer service at 076-8888686 for assistance. The company apologized for the inconvenience caused by this safety issue.
