Son of Security Official Investigated for Car Theft

The son of a senior security organization official is under investigation by the Police Investigation Department (PID) on suspicion of involvement in a car theft. According to a PID statement, the son is suspected along with two additional Border Police officers. A source involved in the investigation stated that the suspect was questioned due to his presence with the other involved parties, and the extent of his direct involvement is being examined. He was released under restrictive conditions following his interrogation yesterday.

The PID announced that the three are suspected of using a vehicle without permission and abusing their official authority. The alleged incident occurred during a patrol in the Jerusalem periphery, where the three reportedly spotted a parked car with keys inside. Without legal authority, they drove the car, causing damage to nearby vehicles, before abandoning it without reporting to their superiors. The vehicle has not yet been recovered.
