Israel Completes Destruction of Hezbollah Tunnels in Southern Lebanon

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the successful completion of the destruction of Hezbollah terror tunnels located on the Ali Taher ridge in southern Lebanon. Katz stated that the tunnels, which had been developed over the past 15 years with Iranian backing, served as a forward stronghold for Hezbollah, intended for incursions into Israel's Galilee region and attacks on IDF soldiers, while also defending the city of Nabatieh.

"We did it. The soldiers fought with supreme heroism and daring, and completed the mission," Katz declared, emphasizing that the operation was conducted under heavy secrecy. He added that the IDF had been instructed at the start of the campaign to maneuver into Lebanon up to the Litani River line to neutralize threats of raids and direct fire on Israeli communities.

The Defense Minister highlighted that the IDF is currently operating within Lebanon, destroying all tunnels and dismantling Hezbollah strongholds and outposts. He specifically mentioned the Ali Taher ridge tunnels, which were reportedly filled with ammunition and threatening weaponry, including a cannon that posed a danger to Israeli aircraft.

Katz asserted that Israel has now established a robust security zone, extending from the coast to the Beaufort and the foothills of Mount Hermon, which he described as stronger than ever. This zone, he explained, protects communities from attacks and direct fire, enabling Israel to control and threaten Hezbollah deep within Lebanese territory. The Defense Minister concluded by stating that Israel is prepared for the continuation of the campaign and further actions against Hezbollah.
