Two Minors Charged with Aiding Iranian Agent, Filming Malls

Israel's State Prosecution has filed indictments against two minors, aged 14 and 16 from Kiryat Motzkin, for carrying out tasks for an Iranian foreign agent in exchange for payment. The charges include contact with a foreign agent, providing information for the enemy, and property damage.

According to the indictment, one of the minors was contacted via a Telegram job search group in June by an individual claiming to be "Daniel." This individual offered payment for completing tasks. The minor later involved his friend, and they collaborated on several missions, even after suspecting and discovering the contact was an Iranian agent.

During their collaboration, one minor photographed various locations in Israel, including malls in Herzliya and Tel Aviv. He also provided the agent with information about mall entrances, exits, and security personnel. The two minors also sprayed graffiti in the Kiryat Motzkin area and sent photographic evidence to the agent. Despite one minor questioning the agent about his Iranian ties, and receiving confirmation of a connection to Iran, the activities continued.

In an effort to expand their operations, one minor impersonated a soldier from Unit 8200 on Telegram to secure more tasks. He also attempted to recruit other minors for "high-risk" missions by creating a Telegram channel. The minors received hundreds of shekels, including via cryptocurrency, for their services.

The case was solved following a covert investigation by the Israel Police, led by the Asher District Crime Unit, in cooperation with Lahav 433 and other security agencies. One of the minors was apprehended at Ben Gurion Airport upon his arrival in Israel.
