Israeli Charged with Foreign Influence Operations and Security Offenses

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against an Israeli citizen for security offenses, alleging he was activated by foreign intelligence services and involved in foreign influence operations against Israel. The Central District Court received the indictment, and a gag order remains in place on most details of the case. Authorities confirmed the suspect was arrested and investigated by the Shin Bet and police on suspicion of security violations. The indictment and a request for his remand until the end of proceedings were filed following the investigation, which revealed his alleged activation by foreign intelligence.

This case follows two other recent indictments involving foreign influence operations. Earlier this week, two minors, aged 14 and 16, from Kiryat Motzkin were indicted for carrying out tasks for an Iranian foreign agent in exchange for cryptocurrency. Their alleged activities included photography, spraying graffiti, and recruiting other minors. They face charges including contact with a foreign agent and property damage, with one also charged with providing information to benefit the enemy.

Last month, an indictment was filed against Israeli citizen Tarmilan Amoshkov and Ukrainian citizen Alina Kushnirko, both residents of Ashkelon. They are accused of contact with Iranian elements and carrying out security tasks under their direction. Amoshkov allegedly communicated with an Iranian agent, received digital currency payments for various tasks, and collaborated with Kushnirko on some of these missions.
